Minister of State in Charge of Transport's Biography
Hon. Dr. Alexis NZAHABWANIMANA is a Civil Engineering PhD. holder from the Technische Universität Darmstadt in Germany, the Institute and Laboratory for Geotechnics.
Dr. Alexis was born on February 01st 1973 and did his first university cycle at National university of Rwanda, after finishing the secondary school studies at Ecole des Sciences de Musanze.
While preparing his PhD thesis between 2006 and 2009, Hon. Alexis Nzahabwanimana was a Research Assistant in deep excavations, shallow and deep foundations and in dynamic soil-foundation-structure interaction at Technische Universität Darmstadt.
After getting his PhD degree in September 2009, Hon. Dr Alexis Nzahabwanimana right away came back to Rwanda, where he joined the National University of Rwanda, working as a lecturer in charge of Soil Mechanics, Geotechnical and Highway Engineering.
From July 2010, Hon. Alexis Nzahabwanimana worked as the Chief Geotechnical Engineer for INFRAMAD (Soiété Malagasy d’Ingenierie); in the Control Mission for the construction of the infrastructure and Access Road No 1 for the Kigali Industrial Park.
Hon. NZAHABWANIMANA was nominated the Minister of State in Charge of Transport in May 2011, after he had been serving as the Director of Development in the Rwanda Transport Development Agency (RTDA) from October 2010.
Hon. Dr Alexis Nzahabwanimana has got valuable understanding and experience on various aspects of Civil Engineering Infrastructures such as highways, railways, airfield, buildings and earthworks.
