Friday, 15th November 2024, The 16th Council of Ministers (CoM) Meeting convened in a spirit of unity and shared purpose, bringing together three Ministers in charge of energy and distinguished leaders from Rwanda, Tanzania, and Burundi. Hosted in the vibrant setting of the Regional Rusumo Falls Hydroelectric Project, the gathering underscored the commitment of the three nations to advancing sustainable energy, fostering regional integration, and addressing shared development challenges.
In his opening remarks, Minister of Infrastructure Dr. Jimmy GASORE highlighted the significance of the Rusumo Falls Hydroelectric Project as a symbol of regional collaboration and progress. This ambitious initiative aligns closely with the shared vision of the East African Community and the African Union, aiming to enhance energy security, stimulate economic growth, and bolster climate action efforts.
