The Ministers of infrastructure and Honorable Claver Gatete and his Togolese Counterpart Hon. Affoh Atcha Dadji had a meeting on the sideline of the 33rd AFCAC plenary Kigali. The two agreed to partner in the aviation, Land (roads), Maritime, & Railway projects. Both Ministers commended the existing working relationship between the two countries in various sectors. They reiterated a strong commitment to further strengthen the relationship for the mutual benefit of the two countries and their people.

Rwanda is keen to extend support to Togo, in its growing aviation sector and conduct a joint technical assessment on Rwandair flying to Togo. The same applies operationalisation of Public Transport with cashless payment and internet connectivity in buses used by local operators in Rwanda.  A joint venture between domestic companies of both countries has to be developed in road construction and exchange programs to promote professionalism and a culture of excellence in services delivery. Rwanda will support Togo, in organizing moto-taxi as public transport.

On the Maritime Transport, Rwanda will learn from Togolese experience on ports management, development, operation, and safety. The private sector cooperation will be developed to enhance in maritime transport business between the two countries. The last component of the discussions was the establishment of the technical exchange program on railway transport. Rwanda will learn from existing railway infrastructure in Togo and future railway development initiatives in both Togo and Rwanda
