Transformative Impact: The rehabilitated Kagitumba-Rusumo Road Enhances Connectivity and improved community Livelihoods"

In a major stride towards improving regional connectivity, the recently rehabilitated 208-kilometer Kagitumba-Kayonza-Rusumo asphalt road is being hailed for its positive impact on boosting trade in the region.

 

The completed road project linking Rwanda to Uganda and Tanzania has transformed economically the cities in the Eastern province especially in the Five districts of Nyagatare, kayonza, Rwamagana, Ngoma as well as Kirehe respectively.

 

Additionally, other accomplishments include the tarmacking of 35km in the Kabarondo-Akagera Game Reserve to support tourism at Akagera National Park, plus the 230km street-lighting along the road which has improved road safety and enabled 24/7 working environment.
