WASAC and JICA sign an agreement to improve Water Supply and management in Eastern Province

Kigali, 10 June 2021: The CEO of Water and Sanitation Corporation (WASAC), Eng. Alfred D. BYIGERO and Mr. MARUO Shin, Chief Representative of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Rwanda Office signed a technical cooperation agreement for “The Project for rural water supply services and infrastructure management development"

The agreement will run for five years and aims to increase water access rate in the 7 Districts of Eastern Province as well as strengthening the capacity of stakeholders involved in rural water management, including private operators, local district officers and water users committees. It will also involve the rehabilitation of already existing water systems.
